The author's horse "Gray Horse"

The artist Nick Fedaeff (Nikolay Fedyaev), the horse's creator, was born in Kazakhstan. He studied at Tomsk Polytechnic University and lived in Tomsk before immigrating to New Zealand in 1996. Since 2006, Nick Fedyaev and his wife have been traveling the world, painting and exhibiting in various countries. Nick Fedyaev is a surrealist, but his work is difficult to pin down within a single style. Fedyaev's paintings are in collections in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and the United States. In his works, the artist uses a combination of acrylic and oil paints, as well as modern mixed media techniques. "Gray Horse" was created by Nikolai during his stay in Tomsk in July 2018.
